Who Are the Rhothali? Soul Survivor Species Spotlight

About one of the many playable classes in our upcoming dueling board game!

Salutations Survivors,

If you haven’t play-tested our dark fantasy dueling board game, Soul Survivor, you may not know that the game originally had 16 different playable species.

Each species features their own unique weapons, armor, and play style!

We’re still deep in development and have currently refined this down to 12 of the best species classes.

This number could always still change before the game’s release, but it’s what feels right to us now.

In this series we’ll highlight the Soul Survivor species you’ll get to fight with, so you can start getting as excited as we are about which one you’re going to play!

Today is all about the Rhothali!

What Is A Rhothali?

Glad you asked😉

The Rhothali are a fantasy species completely unique to Soul Survivor.

In the Soul Survivor Universe, the sea-faring Rhothali inhabit and control the entirety of the Great Canal.

The Great Canal divides the two mega continents of the Soul Survivor world.

They farm plenty of aquatic vegetation, fish and mollusks.

Across their nation, many boats and families join together into one larger shared space.

What Do They Look Like?

Despite their appearance, Rhothali are not aliens or monsters; but a human species!

These water loving people have sun baked leathery skin that doesn't absorb water through osmosis , green eyes, extra large lungs, and long webbed toes.

Why Should I Play As A Rhothali?

Well if you identify as a water-loving human that’s one good reason.

But if that’s not good enough, here are some fun facts about the Rhothali play style:

  • They specialize in ranged melee attacks; nabbing your opponent from afar⚔️

  • They don’t fight with basic weapons like swords - They use a weaponized anchor.

  • Their Cursed Chest armor allows them to summon Drowned Spirits.

  • Overall, they’re pretty badass if you ask us!

Are you excited to play as the Rhothali?

See you soon, Survivors!

Soul Survivor is still in development, but
we’re cooking up a launch strategy for
a crowdfunding campaign.

When the time is ready, we’re excited
for you to support the project!
